Chat

Requirements: The chat is activated for the network.

In the module settings: Chat, all chat-related settings can be configured.

You have the following setting options:

Chat messages can be edited: Yes/No #

If “Yes” is selected, chat messages can be edited within 15 minutes of being sent. Users can do this via the context menu for the sent chat message.

Chat messages can be deleted: Yes/No #

If “Yes” is selected, chat messages can be deleted within 15 minutes of being sent. Users can do this via the context menu for the sent chat message. If a message is deleted, the following text appears for the deleted message: “Deleted message”.

Show online status of users? Yes/No #

If “No” is selected, the online status of users will be deactivated and not displayed for the chat.

By selecting ‘Set by users,’ users can decide whether their chat status is displayed as ‘Online’ or ‘Busy’ and enter a status text. There is also the ‘Hidden’ option, which means that no status is displayed.

If “Yes” is selected, users can only set their status to “Online” or “Busy” and can also enter a status text.

If users have the option to set their online status to ‘Hidden’, we recommend that you do not use the “User online”  info blockin the widgetbar for data protection purposes. The chat status ‘Hidden’  has no impact on the display of the logged in user in the info block.

Guest users can chat with other members of their groups: Yes/No #

If the option ‘Yes’ is selected, guest users can use the chat feature to chat with users from shared groups. Group messages are also possible, provided the chat room is activated for the group.

If “No” is selected, chat is not available to guest users. This also means that guest users cannot be found by other users in the chat.

Show chat message and sender name in push notifications #

In order to comply with existing individual data protection guidelines, network admins can control the display of push notifications from the tixxt app for chat messages for users:

If “Yes” is selected, push notifications received on a smartphone or tablet via the tixxt app for new chat messages will not be anonymised, but will be displayed including the sender name and message text.
