The following settings can be made for the ‘Posts’ module in the network administration:
Permissions #
The post will show these visibilities #
Each post can be published by the author in multiple groups using the ‘Visibility’ function. The visibilities are displayed in the post below the author.
With this setting, the network admin to sets the post’s visibility to display only groups in which the reader has a membership or also those in which there is no membership. Hidden groups are excluded from this.
Pinned posts #
Posts may be pinned by network and group admins (in their respective groups). Pinned posts are highlighted in colour at the top of the feed.
Only with confirmation #
If this setting is selected, posts may only be pinned temporarily. The post then displays ‘Hide post’ at the end of the text. This unpins the post for the respective user.
Permanent and with confirmation #
If this setting is selected, posts may be pinned either temporarily or permanently. If an admin wants to pin a post, they can choose whether users can confirm and hide this post or whether it should remain permanently at the beginning of the feed. In that case, only admins are able to unpin the post for all users.
Close comments on posts #
Requirements: tixxt Enterprise, IndividualCloud Enterprise, IndividualCloud Maxx
This setting allows the network admin to decide whether to close comments in the network automatically or on a scheduled basis. The text ‘Comments have been closed’ appears for users below the existing comments. Comments can no longer be added from this point onwards.
There are three different options for this:
- Off: Users can continue to write comments if they have the appropriate permission. The comment function remains open.
- Manual only: This setting allows the network admin to deactivate the comment function manually in the post context menu. The network admin can also reactivate the comment function via the post context menu if desired.
- Automatically: This setting deactivates the comment function in the network automatically after a specified time. The network admin can choose here between different deactivation date ranges:
- After 3 months
- After 6 months
- After 12 months
- After 24 months
If ‘Automatically’ is selected, the comment function can also be deactivated manually via the post context menu before the deadline has been reached.
Once the comment function has ended automatically and then been reactivated manually, the function remains active until it is deactivated manually again.
Comment sorting #
This setting allows network administrators to change the order in which comments are sorted under posts. Possible options are “Latest first” and “Oldest first”. “Latest first” is the default setting.
Change author #
Requirements: tixxt Enterprise, IndividualCloud Enterprise, IndividiualCloud Maxx
As soon as the ‘Change author’ function is activated, network admins can change the author of each post. When activated, this option can be found in the context menu of the post under ‘Change author’.
You can search for network users in the modal which then opens. After selecting and saving the new author, the new author receives an email informing them of the new post in their name. All permissions in connection with the authorship are transferred to the new author.
