Sending chat messages #
If the user is in an individual or group chat, they have the option of composing a chat message at the bottom in the input field. They can send the chat message by either clicking on the paper airplane icon or pressing enter.
As soon as the user has sent the chat message, its status can be seen from the tick icon in the bottom right-hand corner:
- One tick: The message has been successfully sent to the server.
- Two grey ticks: The message has been successfully delivered to the recipient.
- Two coloured ticks: The message has been read.
You can continue working with sent messages:
- Quote -> Refer to the sent message, again in a new message.
- Edit (if enabled for the network)-> You can edit a message, within 15 minutes of sending it, for example to correct typos or make minor additions.
- Delete (if enabled for the network) -> You can delete a message within 15 minutes of sending it.
- Translate (if enabled for the network) -> Chat messages can be translated into different languages using DeepL (machine translation).
Received or older sent messages have the following options via the context menu of the message:
- Quote -> Refer to the sent message again in a new message.
- Translate (if enabled for the network) -> Chat messages can be translated into different languages using DeepL (machine translation).
Images in chat #
You can add up to 10 images in a chat message. These can either be sent with an additional text message or be sent on their own. Once the images are sent, they will appear in an image gallery, depending on the quantity, where you can click on an image to view it.
To add images to a message, simply click on the small “+” in the chat input window and select “Images”. A window will then open where the images can be uploaded either by clicking on the “Select images” button or by drag & drop.
It is also possible to simply drag & drop the desired images to the open chat window. A query will then appear: “Attach as files or add images?” If “Add images” is selected, the image can then be sent.
There is a file icon in the top right corner of the chat window. Click on it and then select “Show images” to view all images in the chat.
File uploads in chat #
You can add a maximum of 10 files to a chat message. These can either be sent with an additional text message or be sent on their own. Once sent, the files appear as a list and can be downloaded by recipients either directly in the chat window (download icon next to the file) or by clicking on the file. Clicking on the file opens a file detail view, where the file can be downloaded by clicking on the “Download” button.
The recipient can download all files at once using the context menu on the message -> “Download files”.

It is also possible to simply drag & drop the desired files to the open chat window. The files are then added directly to the chat message where they can be sent.
There is a file icon in the top right corner of the chat window. By clicking on it and selecting “Show files”, all files in the chat can be viewed and downloaded.
Select groups #
Once you have clicked on ‘New chat’, an overview opens showing all groups with whom a chat can be started. This overview is sorted by sections. Click on the desired group to open the chat window and start the chat.
Search users and groups #
To start a chat with an individual person, click on ‘New chat’ and enter the name of the desired person in the search field at the top. This is also possible for groups. Click on the magnifying glass icon or the enter key to start the search process – this displays the target person/group.
