Requirements: none
Network admins can link the user directory either in the main navigation of the network or in the widget bar.
The name with which the directory can be accessed can vary depending on the network. Frequently used names are:
- User
- User directory
- Dropdown: Directories -> User, Groups
- Members
- Member directory
Clicking on the link takes the user to the user directory. Which is structured as follows:
- Action bar at the top (Search, Filter, Invite users, View)
- A list of all users including labelling for special status (such as admin or guest)
- Possibility to call up further result pages via pagination
Search for users #
You can search for network users via the Global search function or directly via the Member directory.
If you use the global search, you must filter the search for ‘Member directory’ after entering the search term, in order to achieve the desired search result.
Search bar #
The member directory has its own search bar for ‘Search in users’, which can be used to search the directory. This searches the user profile and the person’s details stored there.
Example:
- Name of the person: John Smith
- Company/Organisation: mixxt GmbH
The search for both ‘Smith’ and ‘mixxt’ brings up the profile of the user John Smith.
If there is more than one person with the name ‘Smith’ or the company ‘mixxt’, they also appear in the search results.
Filter in the user directory #
Alphabetical list #
The member directory can be filtered alphabetically. This filter feature can be accessed by clicking on the filter icon to the right of the search bar.
Depending on the network administration settings, you can filter the directory by last name or by first name using the alphabetical filter.
Filter by last name:
After clicking on a letter, all users whose last name begins with this letter appear in the results.
Filter by first name:
After clicking on a letter, all users whose first name begins with this letter appear in the results.
Profile field filter #
If configured for the network, the directory can also be filtered according to various profile information. To do this, fill in the desired field. The directory will then be filtered based on the selected field(s). If configured for the user profile, app entries can also be selected as filter criteria. The tixxt customer support team will link the App Creator app to the corresponding field in the user profile.
Invite users #
Requirements: none
Network admins can invite new users to the network via the user directory. They then receive an email with a registration link.
An ‘Invite users’ button is available for network admins only, located next to the search bar in the member directory. Clicking on this changes the context and the admin is taken to the network administration. New network invitations can be sent out under the headline ‘New invitation’.
There are two options:
- Email, if only individual people are to be invited
- Email list if several people are to be invited collectively
Network invitations are described in detail in the section ‘Invite Users’ of the network administration.
Map view #
Requirements: Available starting with the ‘tixxtCloud Business’ package level.
The map view for the network must be activated by a network admin.
If the map view is activated, you can call it up in the action bar on the far right by clicking on the pin icon
. A map then opens on which the network members can be found under their specified address.
Depending on the configuration in the network administration, the map may show different sections and look different from the example shown here.
For the sake of clarity, a maximum of 2,500 users can be shown on the map.
The search function above the map can be used to search for one or more specific users. The search function searches not only the name but also the user’s complete profile.
The following actions are also possible on the map:
- Zoom using the arrow keys at the top right
- Zoom by clicking on urban areas with members (circle with number)
- Get key information about a person by clicking on a specific target icon
- Call up a person’s profile from the key information
Entries per page #
This setting provides a better overview of the directory and allows you to decide how many entries should be displayed at once. You can display 10, 25 or 50 users per page.
Call up profile #
In the standard list view, you can call up a profile by clicking on the name in the list.
If the map view is activated, profiles can be called up via the key information of a person on the map.
