Folder types #
Requirements: none
The first level of the file module contains all folders for the entire network. These are divided into two types: There are folders with a group icon and folders with a classic folder icon in front of the respective folder name.
Group folders #
Folders with the group icon serve as file storage for groups that exist on the platform. Group folders can be viewed here for each group in which the respective user is a member. By clicking on the folder, the user is taken directly from the network level to the group and the folders and files located there.
Root folders #
A folder marked with a folder symbol indicates that it is a root folder. All users of the network (with the exception of guest users) have access to these folders.
New folder #
Requirements: none
To create a new folder, start at the level in the file module at which the new folder is to appear. The possibility to create a new folder is only available to users with the appropriate permissions. The breadcrumb navigation below the folder name indicates which level of the file module you are currently on.
Users can create a new folder by clicking on ‘New folder’ in the context menu next to the ‘Add file’ button. In the following folder creation step, the name and description of the folder can be entered.
Name #
The name of the folder is the name under which the new folder is displayed in the overview.
Description #
The file description is prominently displayed above the file list within the respective folder.
