Edit group navigation #
The group navigation is located directly below the group name.
Here you can find the following items for quick navigation of the group content:
- Posts – the group’s feed
- Members – the group’s member directory
- Appointments – the group’s calendar
- Tasks – the group’s tasks
- Files – the group’s file storage
- Profile – the group’s profile
- Admin – only visible for group admins
The group admin may also add further items to this navigation, which are located to the right of the standard options.
Add link #
Click on ‘Add link’ to create a new item in the group navigation. A small box appears in which the options for the new link can be configured. The corresponding setting options are located to the right of the box.
Link target (URL) #
The target for the link is defined here. First select the desired content type in the upper selection.
Link #
Any URL can be entered. This can then be inserted in the dropdown below.
Page #
You can also select a previously created page. Please note that every group member is able to see the link in the group navigation. Access permission for pages is still restricted to the context in which they were created. A page that was created in a group can thus only be opened by members of this group. We therefore recommend that you only link pages in the group navigation that were either created within the group or were created at network level.
Once ‘Page’ has been selected from the upper menu, the group pages are offered for selection in the dropdown. To link a network page, simply copy the corresponding URL from the page creator of the network navigation and paste it using the ‘Link’ option from the dropdown.
App #
A previously created app can be selected in the same way as described above. Please note that, as with Pages, every group member is able to see the link in the group navigation. Access permission for apps is still restricted to the context in which the respective app was created. An app that was created in a group can thus only be opened by members of this group. We therefore recommend that you only link apps in the group navigation that were either created within the group or were created at network level.
Once ‘App’ has been selected from the upper selection, group apps that you can choose from are shown in the dropdown below. To link a network app, simply copy the corresponding URL from the app creator of the network navigation and paste it using the ‘Link’ option from the dropdown.
Link text #
In this field, you can specify the text to be displayed in the group navigation for this menu item.
New window #
By default, all links to pages within the network open in the same tab. Links to external pages are automatically opened in a new tab.
By selecting this setting, links within the network are also opened in a separate tab.
Publicly accessible #
If this box is ticked, the menu items are displayed on the group profile. This allows certain content to be made accessible to users who are not (yet) members of the group. In addition to external links, this is possible for the following types of content:
Pages #
A page can be linked for non-group members if this was enabled when the page was created. Otherwise, the page is only accessible to users with the appropriate permission. Please note: By selecting the ‘Public’ option, the page is also accessible to people who are not logged in, provided the link is known.
Feed #
The group’s feed can be linked for non-members. This must be specifically activated for the respective group. Only the post content is displayed, not the comments or attachments. Please note: By selecting the ‘Public’ option, the group’s feed is also accessible to people who are not logged in, provided they know the URL.
Add sub-link #
Click on the ‘+’ icon on the menu item to add a new item below it. This item is indented to be one level down in the menu. Users will see items added in this way as a dropdown indicated by a small arrow next to the higher-level menu item.

Delete menu item #
The bin icon can be used to remove menu items or sub-items. Alert: Removing a menu item at the top level also removes the associated sub-links.
Move menu item #
Any menu item can be moved to any other position using drag & drop. To do this, simply click and hold on the three lines on the left-hand side of the box, move the menu item and then release it once it is in the correct position.
