Note: The way in which new tixxt versions are made available depends on the package booked.

Requirements:
- tixxtCloud Essentials, tixxtCloud Business
- tixxt Department, tixxt Business
- Test (staging) systems
The basic tixxt packages, which are located in the tixxtCloud, receive automatic updates the day after our release notes are sent.
The same applies for test (staging) systems. These are also updated with the latest version the day after the release notes are sent.
Version updates in the IndividualCloud #
Requirements:

Larger tixxt packages are located on their own installations and can therefore be updated independently. Admins with the required permissions can manage this via tixxt Update Central.
tixxt Update Central #
Permissions for Update Central #
The permission to release new versions for the network is a sensitive permission which is why it is not automatically available to every tixxt network admin. This permission is granted by customer support and requires that the user already has ‘network admin’ status.
Do you want to grant or revoke a user’s permission? This can be done quickly and easily after making contact via our ticket system.
The update process #
The update centre offers the following options for easily managing new tixxt versions:
New tixxt version notifications #
Admins with update central permissions receive notifications automatically of new tixxt versions.
Release Notes are distributed as the initial announcement of new versions, as all customers have long been accustomed to. These contain a detailed description of all the changes in the new version.
If a test system (staging) is used in addition to the productive network, it automatically receives the update the day after the release notes are sent without any action on the part of the customer. The new version can then be extensively tested there in advance.
Approximately 14 days after the release notes are sent, the roll-out phase for the productive network begins.
Admins with the required permission receive an email announcing the new version again with a request to select an appointment for the update via the update centre. The appointment must be selected within a specified deadline period which is also communicated in the email. The deadline is generous, however, so that the customer has plenty of time to make arrangements and preparations.
Network admins with update permissions also receive a pop-up window every day after logging in, informing them of the new version and asking them to select an appointment within the deadline period.
Select appointment for the update #
The tixxt update centre can be accessed via the network administration as well as via the drop-down on your own profile, provided you have permission for this.
Network administration view with Update Central selected in the context bar.
Update Central can be accessed from the drop-down menu below the user profile.
Update Central can be opened on the ‘Versions and updates’ page.
The following view is divided into two parts:
Suggested dates
Currently suggested dates for updating to the new version are displayed on the right. You can select an appointment by clicking on ‘Confirm roll-out’. The update then takes place within the selected time frame.
By clicking on ‘Withdraw roll-out confirmation’, you can cancel the appointment and select another date, if available.
Important: Each appointment can only be selected by a limited number of customers. We therefore recommend that you act quickly to book your appointment.
Selecting the update strategy #
The update strategy for the respective network can be selected on the left under ‘Settings’.
‘Manual’ is selected by default – the customer can manually confirm a roll-out appointment for each update.
The setting can also be changed to ‘Automatic’. In this case, new versions are released automatically at a time previously announced by email. The update usually happens at an early date of the roll-out schedule, Ensuring that the network is always up to date with the latest version.
Reminder #
14 days before the deadline for choosing a roll-out appointment, admins with update permissions receive an additional reminder by email.
Automatic update after the deadline has expired #
Customers who have not selected an appointment for their network update after the deadline has expired are assigned an appointment. Admins with update central permissions are informed of this by email.
